NotesDID YOU KNOW?
There are explanations for many DIY wedding ideas, but no one can really say for sure when the age old tradition of wearing wedding rings started. Some believe the oldest recorded exchange of rings occurred in ancient Egypt, about 4800 years ago. The Egyptians and many other ancient cultures viewed the circle as a symbol of eternity, with no beginning or end. The hole in the center of the ring was considered a gateway to events both known and unknown. Thus, giving a woman a ring signified immortal love.
Throughout history, wedding rings have been worn on different fingers. However, according to a tradition believed to have been derived from the Romans, the wedding ring is worn on the left hand ring finger. There was thought to be a vein in the finger referred to as the 'Vein of Love' which was directly connected to the heart. Scientists have proven this theory incorrect, but thanks to many hopeless romantics who still believe in the myth, wedding rings continue to be worn on the fourth finger of the left hand.

I am an avid reader, so I think this idea is absolutely adorable. I think it would be fun to make the book look like a vintage lovevstorybor perhaps a poetry book? It would add a touch of romance to an already elegant idea. This would be so cute to keep as a keepsake after the wedding as well. I've never seen this done before. It is very original.

Such a beautiful idea! I'm a sucker for anything book related for weddings, so I could totally see myself doing this.

This is a very unusual and untraditional idea...so I love it! Very often there may be a book involved in a romance, and why not incorporate it? You could even even embellish the book a bit further to include the couple's names on the cover and the spine, along with the wedding date or even with photos of the couple on the book or drawings of places they share, or their home towns, whatever makes it personal, super idea!
