Crochet Favor Sachet

Are you the mother of the bride and hoping to help out with the wedding, or the Maid of Honor looking to fulfill her duties in the most unique way possible? Try making a Crochet Favor Sachet or ten. These can hold the bride's DIY wedding favors, or the favors for the bridal shower. Not only are they adorable and perfectly snow-white, but they're incredibly easy and just the right size for a tiny thank-you-for-coming gift. Materials:

• 910-100 Lion Brand Microspun Yarn: Lily White - 1 Ball
• Lion Brand Crochet Hook - Size G-6
• Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)
• 24 in. (61 cm) satin ribbon, 1/4 in. (7 mm) wide

Measurements: 3 x 3 in. (7.5 x 7.5) cm, excluding top trim.

Abbreviations:

beg = begin(s)(ning)
ch(s) = chain(s)
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
rnd(s) = round(s)
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
st(s) = stitch(es)

Gauge: 15 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Instructions

SACHET

Ch 13.

Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, *sl st in next ch, hdc in next ch; rep from * across-12 sts.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, *sl st in next st, hdc in next st; rep from * across.

Rep last row until piece measures 6 in. (15 cm) from beg. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Fold piece in half and sew side seams.

Drawstring Channel

Join yarn with sl st in st on side of top edge.

Rnd 1: Working in sts of last row and free loops on opposite side of foundation ch, ch 4, skip next st, (dc in next st, ch 1, skip next st) around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch.

Rnd 2 (ruffled top edge): Ch 1, sc in same st as join, 5 dc in next dc, (sc in next dc, 5 dc in next dc) around; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Weave in ends. Thread satin ribbon through drawstring channel, cinch top and tie a bow.
