Instructions:

1. Prewash fabric to remove sizing. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets.

2. Cover work surface with tablecloth. Lay silk satin fabric onto work surface.

3. Wearing rubber gloves, add water to One-Step Tie-Dye green dye bottle. Replace cap tightly. Shake until dye is dissolved.

4. Crumple fabric. Squeeze dye to cover entire surface. Cover fabric with garbage bag. Let set 4-6 hours.

5. Wash in a large load of water with a small amount of laundry soap. Line dry.

6. Cut a rectangle from dyed fabric large enough to cover front and back of guest book plus enough to fold 1” to inside along each edge.

7. Apply Tacky Spray onto outside of book, following manufacturer’s instructions. Center book onto fabric piece, smoothing fabric into place and folding edges to inside of book. Glue edges into place, using Fabric Fusion.

8. Apply tape to create stripes. Shake bottle of Matte Olive well. Squeeze a puddle of paint onto foil. Dab sponge into paint. Tap excess paint onto foil. Sponge an even coat of paint between lines of tape. Let dry. Remove tape.

9. Cut a 10” wide strip from gold fabric, equal to height of book plus enough to fold 1” to back of cover. Fold lengthwise, placing raw edges at center of back. Pinch center together. Tie ribbon around center. Lay across cover, folding ends to inside. Glue into place, using Fabric Fusion.

10. Prepare Cordless Heat-Setting Tool. Place one Iron-On Crystal at a time onto center of bow, using tweezers. Touch tip of tool onto top of each Crystal for 5 to 6 seconds to adhere.

I've always loved silk fabric so when I saw this guest book adorned with a silk ribbon, I did not have second thoughts about it. It is so elegant, the name is fit for a queen.
